BJs Ice Cream Parlor in Florence

After a quick Google for the best Ice Cream in Florence , BJ's came up as the top TWO locations. It's very easy for a place such as this in a prime location on the marina to shoot up the Google rankings list due to the mere numbers that it serves on a daily basis. Fortunately for us, BJ's deserves every bit of their top rankings! Though slightly overpriced, but far from unreasonable for the location, this Cascade Mountain Blueberry and Black Raspberry Marble is delightful fresh! You can tell it's made with real fruit and handcrafted. I have to say, this would be up there in the top 5, even back home.

Great ice cream! I'm told it's homemade. Nice! I make ice cream at home and it has a similar taste. It definitely isn't like what you buy in the store. They have candy too you can buy by the ounce... or pound.

I stop here every time I am over that way. It is a must. They have the best salt water taffy!

Very yummy ice cream. Lots of flavors. They also sell salt water Taffy with interesting flavors such as pancake maple syrup. The cones were soft and well made and the people working there were very kind. They did have a couple of dogs there which was not my favorite but the owners made sure not to let them get too close.

Not a lot of seating, sometimes there will be a long line during the busy seasons(summer/spring break). The staff depends on the day and the year really as some staff are super friendly others are just kind of on autopilot. The flavors of Ice cream are great and there is quite a variety to choose from here. There is also some other confections to choose from as well such as fudge, chocolates, salt water taffy...etc. The atmosphere when not crowded during less busy times of the day is nice to take in as they have a great selection of old coke memorabilia to look at hanging on the walls around the shop. If you are looking for some great ice cream with a bit of atmosphere and a feel of old downtown Florence then this is the place to go! I would highly recommend a stop here for desert or just for a refreshing cool dessert.

I don't understand all the great reviews. The staff was nice but the ice cream was lackluster and flavorless. I got the red raspberry cheesecake. No cheesecake flavor at all. Tasted like a bland vanilla and the raspberry syrup was just not great. My friend said hers was flavorless as well.. After hearing all the great hype about the place we were extremely disappointed.

Best ice cream. A must stop! And walk old town.

Delicious banana split! Lovely tastes to all flavors of their ice cream. We walked out with 3 bags of stale caramel corn which was not my favorite. Overall good customer service and delicious ice cream.

Don't waste your money. The taffy is old and hard. We have shopped here in the past previously their taffy was always excellent. Maybe the owner had changed I know the quality had really gone down hill.
